Scottish Farmhouse Holidays offer a rich variety of Farm and country holidays throughout Scotland. For some, it is the peace and quiet of the countryside for others it's the delight in taking part in farm life – watching the animals being fed, lambing time, milking, cheese making, sheep dog training.

All the farms featured offer a warm welcome and delicious food prepared from the freshest natural ingredients. The farmhouses vary from quite grand houses to small friendly family homes. All are independently inspected and family owned and run.

Collect eggs for breakfast, take a guided tour with the farmer himself, or lend a hand feeding newborn lambs. With plenty of fresh air, an abundance of wildlife, delicious farmhouse breakfasts and cosy accommodation the buzz and excitement of the farm will leave the family refreshed and relaxed.

The farms are categorised A, B, or C.

Band A – 4 star standard with en-suite rooms
Band B – 2 or 3 star standard with either en-suite rooms or rooms with private facilities
Band C – 2 or 3 star standard rooms sharing a bathroom

**En-suite/Private room with bathroom – access from within the room, or a private bathroom, for sole use of customers in one bedroom**

Band A – £36.00 - £40.00
Band B – £30.00 - £35.00
Band C – £27.00 - £30.00

Price detailed above are per person per night sharing a twin or double room and include full Scottish breakfast.

Children under 12 years of age are charged at £14.00 per child when sharing with 2 adults
Children under 3 years of age, are free of charge when sharing with 2 adults

East Lothian is a very pretty farming area to the east of Edinburgh. There are also has beaches and lovely small towns within easy drive..

Option 2 – The Scottish Borders
The Scottish Borders are an ideal long weekend destination. From Melrose abbey to Edinburgh city. The distances are small so you an pack lots in.

Option 3 – West Coast of Scotland
Visit one of the Scottish Isles or try Neptune's staircase at the start of the Caledonian Canal.

Option 4 – The Trossachs
Also known as the Gateway to the Highlands, Choose to see freshwater Lochs or historic castles. Everything, including Edinburgh is within easy striking distance.
