Terms and Conditions

Prices:
- Prices are inclusive of VAT @ 17.5%
- We reserve the right to amend all rates quoted in the event of any changes in Government Taxes

Bookings:
- Provisional bookings (without obligation) can be made by email to or fax on

The reservation should clearly state the following:
- Package you wish to purchase
- Travel date
- Number of passengers
- Rooming List

If the reservation includes hotel accommodation the following additional information is required:
- Number of nights accommodation
- Date of arrival and departure
- Any special room requirements
- Ages of any accompanying children

- Alba Travel & Promotions will reconfirm the reservation with you on receipt of your request giving an Alba Travel & Promotions reference which will be used in all further communications.

Payments:
- Provisional bookings will be held for 7 days on receipt of your e-mail, fax or letter requesting a particular package
- A deposit of 30% of the value of the booking is required on confirmation.
- 2nd deposit of 30% is required 4 months prior to package arrival date
- Balance of the invoice to be settled 2 months prior to the event or package date.

EDINBURGH TATTOO HOTEL PACKAGES: 50% deposit is required at time of booking, full balance due 2 months prior to performance date.

EDINBURGH TATTOO & SIGHTSEEING PACKAGES: 100% deposit is required at time of booking.

Payments can be made:
- By UK Sterling cheque made payable to Alba Travel & Promotions
- By Paypal through the Alba Travel & Events website or directly on the Paypal website
- By International Bank Transfer
- Major credit cards and debit cards are also accepted as an alternative method of payment to those detailed above. Simply call us with your credit card details to enable us to make the transaction.

- All payments made via Paypal or by credit card will incur a 3% handling fee this will be added to your invoice before final payment is due.
- If you fail to pay the balance in full 60 days prior to the commencement of an event or package we will treat this as a cancellation by you and our cancellation terms would apply.
- Any reservation made by you within 60 days of travel must be paid in full at confirmation.

Cancellations:
- In the event of cancellation of any booking by a client the client shall pay to Alba Travel & Promotions a cancellation fee calculated as follows, notification must be received in writing of any cancellation or part of:
- The total charge if notice of cancellation in writing is received less than 45 days prior to the date of the event or package start date.
- 50% of the total charge if notice of cancellation in writing is received between 46 days and 60 days prior to the date of the event or package start date.
- No charge if notice of cancellation in writing is received greater than 60 days prior to the date of the event or package start date.

FOR EDINBURGH TATTOO PACKAGES: Notification of cancellation must be sent in writing to us at the address below as soon as possible. An administration charge of £25 will be levied on all cancellations.

Cancellation fees:
- 120 days or more prior to the arrival date – 50% of total cost of the tour will be charged
- 60 days or less – 100% of the total cost will be charged
- We will always endeavour to resell your package in this event. However, should we still have packages available for sale these will take precedence.

- Clients should check the terms of their Holiday Insurance cover as cancellation charges may be recoverable on your insurance if the reason for your cancellation is covered under your policy.

Privacy Policy:
We want you to know that Alba Travel & Promotions is serious about your privacy. Please read the following privacy policy, which covers in detail the information we collect from you, how we use it to make the site better for you and how we keep this information secure. We comply fully with European principles of data protection, which say that data must be:
- Fairly and lawfully processed
- Processed for limited purposes
- Adequate, relevant and not excessive
- Accurate
- Not kept any longer than necessary
- Processed in accordance with the data subject's rights
- Secure
- Not transferred to countries without adequate protection
Alba Travel & Promotions will not sell or hire out your personally identifiable information to anyone. Alba Travel & Promotions is the sole owner of the information collected on this site.
Your personal information relating to a credit card or debit card transaction will not be revealed to anyone with the exception of Paypal where it will specifically be used for processing your payment through our Paypal Merchant Account in a secure payment processing environment.
Once your payment has been made your details relating to your credit card, debit card, bank account and other financial information will be destroyed.
Alba Travel & Promotions is committed to handling your customer information with high standards of information security. Paypal is fully compliant with the PCI Data Security Standard assuring you transactions made with your Visa or Debit card through our Merchant Account is secure and safe.

Force Majeure:
- Alba Travel & Promotions will not be liable for any delay in performing or failure to perform its obligations as a result of fire, shortage of labour, strikes, industrial disputes or other causes beyond reasonable control.

Complaints:
- We make every effort to ensure enjoyment and smooth running of your holiday or event package. If however you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your package please contact our office immediately whereupon we will try to resolve the situation to your satisfaction. If for any reason we are unable to rectify the problem in this manner then please write or email Alba Travel & Promotion within 14 days of the holiday or event package ending.
- Alba Travel & Promotions will not accept liability for complaints that are not reported during the client’s participation during a holiday or event package or within 14 days of the package ending.

Other:
- Alba Travel & Promotions will not be liable for any damage or loss of property of the Client how so ever such loss or damage is caused and whether or not be the negligence of any servant or agent of Alba Travel & Promotions.
- Written confirmation of the booking represents acceptance of these terms and conditions which cannot be amended other than with the written approval by Alba Travel & Promotions.
- In the event that an event is cancelled no charge will be made if no service whatsoever is provided or required.
- This Agreement shall be governed in accordance with the law of Scotland and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
